Applications for participation are accepted from February 1 to April 10, 2024. The shortlist will be announced in June. The festival itself will take place from September 17 to 27, with the main program from September 19 to 23.

The shortlist of the People and Environment Film Festival has been announced
Out of 123 applications of the 21st Baikal International Film Festival named after V. Rasputin competition program 25 works have been selected: 15 documentaries, 7 popular science and 3 feature films. The majority of them come from Russia. They are 18 works, including those created by Irkutsk filmmakers Anastasia Zverkova, Yulia Byvsheva and Pavel Skorobogatov. Also, there are works from Iran, Slovakia, Argentina, the UK and the USA. The list of participants of the non-competition program and the full-dome cinema section will be announced later.
Submission Deadline Extended
Directorate of the Baikal International Film Festival named after V. Rasputin has extended the submission deadline for participation in the new edition to April 25 inclusive. The shortlist will be announced in June, and the Festival itself will be held in September. The Festival regulations and the application form are available at www.baikalkinofest.ru. Opening of the 20th Baikal International Film Festival People and Environment named after V. Rasputin will be held in Irkutsk on September 8 at the Zvezdny Cinema. The full program has been formed and published on the website of the film festival.
