Yulia Darkova (Ekaterinburg, Russia)

Yulia was born in Yekaterinburg, grew up in Abkhazia, graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University, and was a creative producer at the Channel One (Russia). She has been making documentaries and has started documentary journalism since 2018.

She is a winner of the Man and the Sea Documentary Film Festival, winner of the of My Planet Channel Competition for Travel Video, creative producer, director, photographer, cameraman, marine geologist, traveller, yachtsman, participant of the Baikal-Alaska expedition – she travelled from Kamchatka to Chukotka on an inflatable paddle boat in 2018.
