People and Environment Film Festival application deadline has been extended

The directorate of the Baikal International Film Festival named after V. Rasputin extends the application deadline until May 4, inclusive. The longlist will be announced in June, and the Festival itself will be held from 23 to 27 September. 135 applications have already been submitted for participation in the anniversary season of People and Environment Film Festival. Among them are filmmakers from Russia, Germany, Brazil, Croatia, Serbia, Turkey, Finland, Ukraine, Poland, and Iran.

The contest entries will be evaluated by an international jury, which will determine the winners in the following categories: 

— Best Documentary; 

— Best Feature Film; 

— Best Popular Science Film;

— Best Animated Film. 

A special prize named «Baikal» will also be awarded within the framework of the Festival — to a film about the most acute environmental problems. The reward for winning the Grand Prix of the Festival is 300,000 rubles.

In addition, the Festival program provides several special prizes: the Youth Jury, the Media, and Audience Awards.
