The film “Sea-buckthorn Summer” will be the opening film of the 17th Baikal International Film Festival «People and Environment», the creative meeting with the film crew will be held

Ministry of culture and archives of Irkutsk region and Irkutsk Regional Film Foundation are glad to inform that the film «Sea-buckthorn Summer» (Studio Lendoc, Saint-Petersburg) will be the opening film of the 17^th Baikal International Film Festival  «People and Environment» named after V. G. Rasputin.

The film «Sea-buckthorn Summer» by director Viktor Alferov tells about the last years of life of an outstanding playwright, our fellow Aleksander Vampilov. The crew with the main character of the film Andrey Merzlikin will come to Irkutsk. It will be Irkutsk premiere of a symbolic film which hasn’t been widely distributed yet but at the same time was mentioned by the viewers and critics. And the guests of the Festival will not only watch the film but the next day after the premiere everybody can come to the creative meeting with the crew where the audience can talk and ask questions to the director Viktor Alferov, the second director Elena Alferova, scriptwriter Olga Pogodina-Kuzmina and the main character of the film Andrey Merzlikin. A video from Irkutsk Regional Film Foundation on the film shooting process at Baikal will be shown at the meeting.

Baikal International Film Festival «People and Environment» named after V. G. Rasputin will take place in Irkutsk from 21^st till 25^th of September. Creative meeting with the «Sea-buckthorn Summer» film crew will be conducted at 18:30 on the 22^nd of September in Zvezdniy cinematheatre (hall «Oskar»).
