The winners of the 17th Baikal International Film Festival "People and Environment" have been announced

The closing ceremony of the 17th Baikal International Film Festival «People and Environment» named after V. G. Rasputin took place in Irkutsk at 25 th of September. The results and the winners were announced.

Grand Prix  n.a. V. G. Rasputin and the prize of 200 000 rubles was received by the play drama The Lord Eagle, directed by Eduard Novikov (Russia, 2018). The awards were presented by the president of the film festival Sergey Miroshnichenko and the Minister of Culture and Archives of the Irkutsk Region Olga Stasyulevich.

Winners in nominations:

Prize» The Best Documentary Film n.a. M. Romm» — Plastic China (directed by Wang Jiulyan, China, 2016)

Prize «The best popular science film n.a. I.Cherskiy» — Operation Mayflay (directors Gergeliy Balazs, Balazs Lerner, Hungary, 2017)

Prize «The best full-dome film n.a. A. Don-Othello» — The Forest (directed by Adam Smochinski, Poland, 2016)

Prize «The best future film n.a. L. Gaidai» — The Red Garden (directed by Mirbala Salimli, Azerbaijan, 2016)

Prize «The best socio-ecological video» – Raccoons- drummers sort waste (directed by Andrei Levkovich, Belarus).

 The Baikal special prize for the urgency of the problem — Anote’s Ark (directed by Matthew Ritz, Canada, 2018)

Kamchatka Bears. Life begins (directors Vladislav Grishin and Irina Zhuravleva,  Russia, 2018) received a special reminiscence from jury members  the prize for the best camera.

Awards were also presented:

«Youth Jury Prize» — The Rock (directed by Hamid Jafari, Iran, 2015)

«Media Community Prize» —  Life with Bacteria (directors Andrey Timoschenko, Stanislav Stavinov, Russia, 2017)

«The Audience Prize» this year was awarded to the film Fish Owl Wanted (directed by Ilya Tsyganov, Russia, 2017) and the socio-ecological video Baikal-Totem (directed by Yuri Dorokhin, Russia, 2017).

A diploma from the Irkutsk Regional Branch of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia was awarded to the creative group of the opening film  Sea-buckthorn Summer for the Successful Directorial Debut and Talented Incarnation of the Character’s Image in the movie.
