The fulldome contest program of the film festival “People and Environment” 2017 has been formed

It’s the 3d year the fulldome program has been presented at the Festival. It will be possible to watch films in 360 o format on the dome of Irkutsk Planetarium during all Festival days this year. The audience can watch 5 fulldome films: film «Minin» about the icebreaker of Irkutsk director Maxim Savshenko, virtual film about winter Baikal – the first episode of the great project of USA and Russia together, the film has already become a participant of many world festivals; and fascinating story about the telescopes of the Greek director Theofanis Matsopoulos. Producer Enrique Fonte — a member of the international award panel — will present two of his films: The Mayans: Cosmic Planners and The Secret of Calakmul.

The following films were selected for the fulldome contest program:
1.Lake Baikal: The Science and Spirituality of Extreme Water 
(directors Michael Owen, Georgy Molodtsov — USA, Russia)
2. Minin 
(director Maxim Savchenko — Russia)
3. Capturing the starlight 
(director Theofanis Matsopoulos-Greece) 

Non-contest program of the fulldome includes:

1. The Mayans: Cosmic Planners 
(director Diego Fenton — Mexico)
2. The Secret of Calakmul 
(director Gabriel Reyes — Mexico)

The ticket price for the screenings of contest and non-contest programs in Irkutsk Planetarium is 200 rubles. Each fulldome film screening includes the fulldome excursion on Irkutsk starry sky which is conducted dy the Planetarium lecturer. The lecturer will answer all the audience questions after the screening.
