Winners of the XV Baikal International Festival of Documentary and Popular-Science films «People and Environment» n.a. V. G. Rasputin


61 films were screened in «Dom Kino» and «Zvezdny» cinemas, Irkutsk Planetarium, «Belaya Vorona» cinema-cafe and Irkutsk Regional State Universal Scientific Library n.a. I.I. Molchanov-Sibirsky. Roughly about 9000 viewers visited film shows during those days. As part of a competition programme several fulldome popular-science films were shown. They were created specially for screening at planetariums with dome covering the whole venue. A special screening of «Rings of the world» became a real revelation to documentary lovers, as well as meet-the-director event with Sergey Miroshnichenko, president of «People and Environment» Film Festival.
At the festival, as part of the filmschool, two master classes of film-makers members of international jury of the festival took place:
· «Documentary - the journey from idea to the result»
Master class was led by Evgeniy Grigoriev, president of the international jury of the festival, theatre and cinema director, producer, scriptwriter.
· «VR360 – virtual reality is possible in cinema»
The master class was led by Georgiy Molodtsov - a member of the festival jury, vice-president of the Guild of non-fiction cinema and television, director, producer.
Within the framework of the festival the second Baikal pitching of the best film projects of Irkutsk region, the Republic of Buryatia and the Zabaikalsky region was held. The winners have received cash prizes totalling 60 000 roubles to start their film projects from the general partner of the pitching — Irkutsk Regional Film Fund with the support of the Culture and Archive Ministry of the Irkutsk region. Irkutsk Regional Film Fund also awarded certificates for the rental of equipment totalling 60 000 roubles.
Eco-breakfast in culinary studio "Anetti" also became a tradition. Guests of the festival learned to cook traditional buryat pozy and Russian pancakes.
