NON-COMPETITION PROGRAM

Film-portrait by Boris Mirkin, one of the Soviet programming pioneers. In this film Mirkin tells not so much about artificial intelligence, how much about a hat bought in London, a collection of horse figurines or his children moved to different countries. In fact, not such a funny story of the author is a portrait of the whole generation of Soviet scientists. Mirkin began researching artificial intelligence in a country, where artificial intelligence should be used for studying of villagers` behavior. Moved because of family`s fear of Jewish massacre. Made a career in the West. Turned back, because people in Russia think in Russian.
