This film intents to show the history of two countries through the story of one product – first Russian cheese. It was made in the village Lotoshino in the estate of count Meschersky. A Swiss cheesemaker Johann Muller was hired and first cheesemakers in Russia worked under his supervision. For the entire century the cheesemaking operation flourished, the first laboratory, farming school and cheese factory were established.
