Vladimir Marin entered the Faculty of Geology of Moscow State University in 1994. In 2002, he graduated from the VGIK (the Directing Faculty, Honoured Artist of USSR Vladimir Naumov’s feature film workshop). He began working as a director-cameraman of scientific and search-and-rescue expeditions with the participation of the EMERCOM of Russia in 2004. Vladimir conducted 15 sea and a number of land expeditions related to popular science as a director-cameraman and director of filming. He has been the head of the IORAN Video Studio at the P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 2009 to the present. The films Dangerous Baltic, A Hundred Skins of Unkilled Bears, Beyond the Kara Gate, The Secret of the White Jailbreaker, Odyssey of Worlds, Neseyka: The Youngest Daughter became laureates of major Russian and international film festivals.
