Dmitry Tikhomirov graduated from the Scriptwriting Department of the VGIK in 2002. He worked as a journalist at the Moskovskij Komsomolets, Expert, and Kommersant newspapers. In 2010, he left journalism to become a documentary filmmaker while simultaneously shooting commercial and music videos and working on TV. Two years ago, Dmitry Tikhomirov got nominated for the Best Guide of Russia by Russian Geographical Society for his mushroom excursions, and also began shooting a full-length popular science film with them Mushroom Land. Dmitry Tikhomirov currently hosts The Fungi Kingdom show on the My Planet TV Channel.
