PEOPLE AND ENVIRONMENT: RETROSPECTIVE

Irkutsk Regional Film Fund launches a video version of the film school of the Baikal International Film Festival named after V. G. Rasputin.

The project will be based on the recordings of master classes and creative meetings with famous guests of the festival People and Environment. Among them: Emir Kusturica, Sergey Miroshnichenko, Vladimir Grammatikov, Yuri Yermolin, Andrey Merzlikin, Viktor Alferov, Kristin Buhner and many other well-known filmmakers.

The first part is Yuri Yermolin's master class «The work of a documentary cameraman. Facets of sport», held in the framework of the film school of the 18th Baikal international film festival People and Environment named after V. G. Rasputin. On the example of the films Being in the Game, Rings of the World and Spirit in Motion, one of the most eminent Russian cameramen tells about the specifics of the art of documentary shooting.

Yuri Yermolin is a documentary cinematographer, a graduate of Russian State University of Cinematography, a member of the Union of Сinematographers of the Russian Federation, and a laureate of The State Prize of the Russian Federation.

He is a winner of the American television Academy award Emmy (USA), Golden Bear (Berlin), Golden Camera (Los Angeles), Hugo Silver Award (Chicago), Golden Eagle, Nika, Taffy (Russia). Collaborates with BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, and History Channel. Among his cinematographic works are the films River of life, Born in the USSR, Unknown Putin, Solzhenitsyn. The Final Stretch of the River, Father Baikal and many others.
