The jury of the 17th Film Festival «People and Environment» has been formed

The professional jury of the 17th Baikal International Film Festival «People and Environment» named after V. G. Rasputin, which will take place in Irkutsk from 21st till 25th of September, has fully been formed.

 

The President of the Festival – Sergey Miroshnichenko, documentary films director, producer, teacher. Honoured Art Worker of Russia, Winner of two State awards of Russian Federation, member of the Russian Presidential Council on Arts and Culture, member of the Public Council of Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, secretary of the Russian Filmmakers Union of documentary films, professor, head of the studio of non-feature films direction department in All-Russian State Film Institute, member of the National Academy of Film Arts and Sciences of Russia, member of Russian Television Academy «TEFI», head of the studio «Ostrov».

 

The head of the jury will be a documentary films director, scriptwriter, producer, lead director of the documentary films Direction JSC «First Channel», Natalia Gugueva, Russia.

 

Also the works presented at the Festival will be evaluated:

Cristiane Buchner — documentary films director, member of the selection committee of Film Festival in Oberhausen, teacher of cinema and media courses in Academy of Arts in Cologne, Germany;

Takashi Niva – producer, founder of the «PIONIWA CO» company – film studio for training youth and school pupils and films rental for higher school students, Japan;

Elena Alferova – documentary films director, member of the selection committee at the film festival «Luchezarniy Angel» and «Svidanie s Rossiei», teacher in film and television school «Aurum», Moscow;

Tatyana Skorokhodova –Soviet and Russian actress, teacher of Irkutsk branch of All-Russian State Film Institute, member of the Russian Filmmakers Union and Film Actors Guild, Russia;

Jennifer Satton – ecologist, public figure, explorer and protector of Baikal, Great Britain/Russia.

 

The Festival jury will choose the winners in five nominations:

-Documentary film

-Popular-science film

-Feature film

-Full-dome film

-Social-ecological video

 

Contest and non-contest programs of the 17th Baikal International Film Festival «People and Environment» named after V. G. Rasputin have fully been formed. 624 works from 45 countries have been sent. By the efforts of the selection committee 54 works from 27 countries were chosen for the contest and non-contest program.
