The application for the festival  «People and Environment» has started of the 30th of March

Announcement of applications for the 17th Baikal International Film Festival   «People and Environment» n.a. V. Rasputin. This year, the deadline is extended until June 1, 2018, and the festival itself will be held from September 21 to 25.


Another novelty: the festival expanded the format — there were two new nominations for «Best Feature Film» and «The Best Social-Ecological video». To participate are movies from 50 minutes and videos from 1 to 5 minutes, highlighting environmental issues and relationships with people. Also the jury of the festival traditionally evaluates films in the nominations: «Best documentary», «Best popular science film», «Best full-dome film», «Baikal» prize for the sharpness of the problem (awarded to the film about the most urgent environmental problems). The financial prize for the Grand Prix of the festival this year will be 200 thousand rubles.
In addition, special prizes of the festival are awarded: the prize of the youth jury; prize of the media community; People's Choice Award.

The name of the festival has changed due the introduction of new nominations to the Baikal International Film Festival «People and Environment» n.a. V. Rasputin.
